Design, research and manufacture of diverse interactive sports equipment for the Manchester City space in Abu Dhabi.
Equipment for an Interactive Sports Experience
Design and manufacture of various equipment to create an interactive sports experience for visitors to the City Challenge located in the Yas Mall of Abu Dhabi.
This venue is designed for fans of the Manchester City Football Club to participate in various competitive challenges related to football. It is a space with gamified museography, where participants will have an immersive and interactive experience with their favorite Manchester City stars.
This project has been carried out in collaboration with the MediaproExhibitions team, where we have designed and manufactured the following equipment:
- JUMP : Jump height challenge
- REFLEXES: Skill and speed of reflexes challenge
- SPEED: Speed running challenge.
Jump Modules: JUMP
Three identical pieces of equipment are designed and manufactured, challenging visitors to jump as high as possible within a marked area. Using a luminous VU meter, visitors can check the maximum height they have reached in their various attempts, allowing them to compare and compete with other participants.
This is an ideal exercise for training defensive jumping or heading in football corners.
Reflex Modules: REFLEXES
Design and manufacture of 3 interactive touch walls, where each player is presented with a challenge to demonstrate their reflexes and agility with their arms and hands. This is an ideal exercise for training a football goalkeeper.
Each interactive equipment contains circular tactile luminous zones that light up with a cadence. When it lights up, the player must touch it quickly for a limited time before the light goes out.
The challenge consists of having the maximum number of correct hits in a fixed time. The level of difficulty can vary.
Interactive Speed Track: SPEED
A track and three lanes are available to present the challenge of a fast race in acceleration and speed.
Equipment is developed to detect each of the three runners and measure the race time of each participant from the start of the race until they cross the finish line. This allows them to compete with each other and compare themselves with the other participants.
Starting, acceleration, and speed are essential resources for any soccer player, both for disputing the ball, in defense, pressuring the opponent, and for counter-attacking.
