6dof Motion Simulator with 4DX effects
Design, manufacture and installation of a 4m diameter circular mobile platform, for 16 people and with 6 degrees of freedom of movement.
The lower part of the platform contains the pistons and servo motors that are responsible for the movement with 6 dof (6 degrees of freedom). This part is not visible to the viewer and is located inside a pit, so that the upper part of the platform is level with the ground, facilitating access for visitors to sit down.
Cine 4DX effects
The upper part of the platform contains 16 seats with 4dx cinema effects and luminous areas
Each seat contains various effects to achieve a great immersive experience for the viewer: such as vibration, water effects, a pair of pressurized air and light effects
In addition to this, heat, wind, lightning and more luminous effects are placed on the roof of the installation.
Immersive Experience
The installation has been created for visitors to enjoy an immersive experience, where they become aware of the consequences of climate change.
The visitor will feel like they are traveling in a ship through different scenarios, experiencing sensations with the movement and the different effects mentioned that the platform contemplates, all synchronized with the images of the film displayed on a huge hemispherical screen.
Technological Solution
The project includes:
- Design and manufacture of the entire structure, mechanics, servomotors, pistons and supports of the simulation platform.
- Development and manufacture of 16 seats with vibration, air, water effects as well as different luminous effects.
- Manufacture of a platform on the roof with luminous, heat, wind, and lightning effects.
- Design, programming and manufacture of electrical panels with all the automatisms and safety measures
- Software programming and synchronization for the movement of the platform with 6 degrees of freedom
- Software for control and synchronization of the different effects: luminous, water, air, wind, heat, lightning etc... all of them synchronized with the video and sound.
- Communications protocol for control with the central PC
- Installation and testing at LLoret Castle.
